Introduction to Oracle8: SQL O-140

3 Day Course  $1500

Available on Ohio State Term Schedule (Netwave Corp. STS) 

This course covers the use of ANSI-standard SQL, Oracle extensions to ANSI SQL, and Oracle's SQL*PLUS SQL interface. Students are presented with an overview of the Oracle development environment, Oracle's client/server model, and typical development  toolsets and environments.

Students will create data tables using Oracle table constraints to enforce referential integrity and learn the SQL language to insert, update, delete, and select data from the tables in the database. Students will learn how to control data sharing and locking, and develop an understanding of multi-user, concurrent transactions.

At the end of this course, the student will be prepared to: 

Describe Relational Databases and SQL. 

Use the SQL language to add, change and delete rows from structures in an Oracle database. 

Describe the basic architecture of an Oracle server.

This course will prepare candidates for the SQL topics in the first Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) exam.

This course is for students new to Oracle and the SQL language.

q have experience on legacy systems wanting to migrate to an open systems environment.
